Der Seher und der Schamane. Zwei Gesichter der polnischen Gegenwartsdichtung
Pages 345 - 363
Both Adam Zagajewski and Eugeniusz Tkaczyszyn-Dycki are highly regarded contemporary Polish poets who differ considerably in their views on poetical matters. Employing Walter Muschg’s typology, the article treats their approaches to poetry as the manifestations of two principal types of poets, i.e. the seer and the shaman. The paper’s main objective is to thoroughly analyze their most recent poetical works, briefl y outlining their distinguishing features and placing them in various interpretative contexts, in order to ultimately discover their connections and affi nities and thus view them in relationship to the possible origins of poetry in general.
